Many believers still find themselves asking how do I pray and how can I draw closer to God. What does it mean to truly pray? To some people it's not that clear, but to truly pray means speaking the words within your heart to God openly and honestly and communing with God.Drawing close to God in prayer means talking to God in your quiet place and feeling His presence all around you. Psalm 16:11You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. When you pray the atmosphere changes because of the power in God’s presence.Praying means being especially open within your heart and knowing that God is Your Father, Jesus is Your Lord and Saviour and you can approach the throne of grace and petition anything and everything.
Hebrews 4:16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.Prayer is a time that you truly know how privileged you are to fellowship with God The Father ,The Son and The Holy Spirit .
When you have a relationship with God, a prayer from the heart means speaking our heartfelt words to God and opening our hearts to commune with Him about our difficulties, things that we face, and the questions we don’t understand.By praying to God and drawing close to Him, we understand His will and find out His ways. With prayer such as this, we can be clear-minded and enlightened under the guidance of God, so that we can see the true nature of problems more clearly and receive the solution by the Holy Spirit. We can feel that God is right by our side; our hearts will feel particularly close to Him and our relationship with Him gradually gets closer. If we always pray to God in this way, our prayers will be after His heart and will surely be answered.
Prayer is one of the ways in which man cooperates with God, it is a means by which man calls upon God, and it is the process by which man is touched by God’s Spirit. It can be said that those who are without prayer are dead in spirit, which means that they lack the connection to be touched by God. Without prayer, they are unable to attain a normal spiritual life and cannot follow the work of the Holy Spirit as well as the leading of the Holy Spirit.Without prayer one's relationship with God is stagnant because in the place of prayer that is where you receive divine instruction from God and you also of receive God’s approval.Every Christian should know that the more you pray, the more you are touched by God,the more God draws you closer to Him & the more anointed you are.People of prayer have greater insight into the the spiritual realm and are more able to receive the latest revelation from God by the Holy Spirit.
God's original intent was to fellowship with man, however man sinned and was separated from God.God reinstated that privilege by sending His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.God's greatest passion is that we draw near to Him.That we come to His throne to find all the help we need to live in this world.God wants us to come to Him confidently knowing that He will reward us with all that He has for us in Jesus Christ.James 4:8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.God wants us to have fellowship with Him and we should not settle for a Christian life at a distance from God.God should not be a distant thought or an after thought, but a near and present reality, we too can experience what the old Puritans called communion with God.
PLEASE NOTE, This drawing near is not a physical act. It's not building a tower of Babel, by your achievements, to get to heaven. It's not necessarily going to a church building, IT'S NOT BY YOUR WORKS.Or walking to an altar at the front. It is an act of the heart, You can do it while standing absolutely still, or while lying in a hospital bed, or while sitting in a pew listening to a sermon.Drawing near is not moving from one place to another. It is a directing of the heart into the presence of God who is as distant as the "Holy of Holies" in heaven and yet as near as the door of faith. He is commanding us to come. To approach him. To draw near to him.
